Christian Lauer Lower was born in Berks Co. PA. He married Elizabeth Ludwig of Amity, Berks Co. Aug 1780. She was the daughter of Daniel & Anna Ludwig.

Christian & Elizabeth were the parents of Daniel, David, John, Benjamin, Samuel, William, Sarah, and George. They would settle in Coshocton Co. OH in the early 1800's. He was a blacksmith by trade. Christian served in the Revolutionary War at the age of fifteen, was a drummer boy at the Battle of Brandywine. A commemorative marker has been placed at his grave site. At one point in the Civil War, five of their sons were serving our Country.

Christian died in 1831 at the age of 71. He is buried in the graveyard of the New Bedford United Church of Christ, now known as Zion United Church of Christ along Co. Rd. 12. Christian's original stone bore the wrong dates, family placed a new stone in its place. Do not see a marker for Elizabeth. Their plot is in the older section across the road from the church.
