OBITUARY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary V. Sawyer, aged 76 years, 5 months, and 22 days, wife of W.P. Sawyer, who died at the family home in Staunton Saturday will be held at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the family home. Rev. Robert Ricks, Worden, officiating. Interment in the Tine Sawyer Cemetery.
Decedent was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sawyer and was born Sept. 16, 1852, in Dorchester Township. At the close of the Civil War, she went with her parents to Arkansas where they resided a short time, returning to the country west of Staunton. Fifty eight years ago on New Year's Day she was married to W.P. Sawyer and the couple went to housekeeping on the farm in West Prairie where they spent most of their married life until 10 years ago when the couple moved to Staunton where they have since resided. She was a member of the Christian Church at West Prairie.
Survived by her husband and five daughters and four sons; Mrs. Thomas Scroggins, Phelps, Mo.; Mrs. Bertha Wooldridge, West Prairie; Mrs. Anna Poore, Staunton; Mrs. Burrell Wilder, LaPorte City, Ia.; Mrs. Floyd Sawyer, Wilsonville; Richard Sawyer, West Prairie; Anderson Sawyer, Staunton; John, whose whereabouts are unknown; Harrison, West Prairie, also forty grand children and 20 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. William Adams, Litchfield, and one brother, B.F. Sawyer, West Prairie.
