Mrs. Aliff Jane Carr Succumbs in Hospital
Kewanna -- Mrs. Aliff Jane Carr, 91, widow of James H. Carr, died Sunday afternoon at Carneal Hospital, Winamac.
Born in Macon County, Illinois, on Feb. 3, 1864, she was the daughter of Aden and Amy Hawk. Her husband preceded in death in 1935.
The deceased was a member of the Kewanna Chrisitian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Vincek, South Bend; five sons, Wilbur and Thomas, Kewanna; Harve, Mt. Auburn, Illinois; Charles, Niantic, Illinois; and John A., Decatur, Illinois; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death.
Final rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Harrison chapel in Kewanna with the Rev. H. F. Bulger and the Rev. Kenneth Luckey officiating. The body will then be taken to Decatur for services and burial Wednesday. Friends may call at the chapel.
