NIANTIC, April 13.—Mrs. Amy Catherine Hawk, 86, resident of Niantic community for 85 years, died early Friday morning in the home of her son, John, following a lingering decline in health. She was born June 20, 1842, near Niantic and with the exception of one year, passed her entire life in the community. She leaves three children: Mrs. Aliff Carr, Kewanna, Ind., Roy Hawk, Peru, Ind., and John Hawk of Niantic. One son, James Edward, and a daughter, Mrs. Amy Penelope Lawton, preceded her in death. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Long Point Church of Christ where the services will be conducted. Burial will be in Long Point cemetery.
