Herbert Eldon Alcott was the son of William Asbury Allcock/Allcock/Alcott & Anna Mahitable (Ray) Alcott. He was born in Madison County, IA and moved with his parents to Browerville, MN, Hubbard Co., MN,(where his father ran a sawmill near Akeley) and then to Villard , Pope where he farmed in 1929. Bert married Elsie Marie Brockberg March 21, 1934 and they moved to a farm five miles northeast of Villard, MN. Elsie was the daughter of William Henry Brockberg & Anna Margaret (Ehlers) Brockberg. Elsie suffered a major stroke in 1968 and in 1975 they moved to Avon, MN to be near their daughter, Deloris Ann (Alcott) Nelson. They were the parents of 4 children: Arnold Eldon, Harold Leroy (changed his name to Burl Aberly), Deloris Ann, & Darrell Herbert Alcott.
