Mrs. Grasser was a door greeter at Kmart. She had also worked at McDonald's in Bourbonnais. She was born the daughter of Joseph D. and Celanise Lambert Benoit. Her husband, Frederick Grasser, whom she married Aug. 4, 1951, at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, died Aug. 31, 1973. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed gardening, her "club" (Canasta--card club) and the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnette and Rich Eldred of Wilmington, Roxanne and Laurence Zelhart of Bourbonnais; five grandchildren, Lisa (Stan) Beckman, Scott and Adam Eldred, Ben and Tyler Zelhart; two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Mollie Beckman; two brothers, Ray Benoit of Kankakee, Lambert Benoit of Stoney Ford, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are five sisters, Loretta Owen, Mary Hatting, Cecile Lanoue, Burnette Lanoue and Dorothy Hebert; and four brothers, Albert, Gene, Dee and Robert Benoit.
