Mrs. Irvin Swartz Answers Summons

Mrs. Bessie May Swartz, 60, of West Market Street died at 3 A.M. today at the Clinic hospital following an illness of four and one-half months from heart trouble and complications.

The decendent was born July 4, 1886, in Wells County, a daughter of Andrew and Martha Bender Lash, and was united in marriage April 14, 1906, to Irvin Swartz. She was a member of the Nazarene church and a lifelong resident of the county.

Surviving besides the husband are eight sons; Donald, Lee, and Darrell of Monroe, Mich, Franklin, in the army in Yokohama, Irvin, Jr. in the navy in the South Pacific, Eugene in the army at Ft. Ord, Calif., Virgil and Bobby at home, a daughter, Mrs. Charles Iser at home, a sister, Mrs. Charles Perry, of Bluffton and seven grandchildren.

Three children and two brothers are deceased.

The body will be taken Wednesday morning to the residence at 820 West Market Street.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Thoma funeral chapel in charge of Rev. Harold Priddy, pastor of the Nazarene church. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery
