Viola J. Marchand, 84, of Metamora passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008, at her residence.

She was born on April 10, 1924, in Toluca, the daughter of Simon and Marie (Camphor) Fredericks. She married Wilbert J. Marchand on June 15, 1943, in Metamora.

Surviving are her husband; and two sons, Wilbert (Rosie) Marchand Jr. and Joseph Marchand, both of Metamora. Also surviving are four daughters, Sharon (Donald) Garber of Low Point, Carol Ann Couch of Streator, Ill., Cindy (Gene) Wegner of Peoria and Theresa Marchand of Metamora; one brother, Elmer Fredericks of Joliet; and one sister, Mary Ann Hoffman of Alburquerque, N.M.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Annette; and one sister.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at the church.

She performed on the WLS Radio Station in Chicago.

She loved gardening and doing arts and crafts.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Metamora.
