Born Olen Kelsey Bowen in Denver, Texas and later changing his name to George, he married Lillian T. Wayne of San Francisco on April 5, 1929. They had three children: George Edward, Marie Loree and Stephen Patrick. They also had 15 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Lived in California most of their lives, married for 53 years before Lillian passed away of cancer.
