Born March 6, 1948, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and friend of our community. He passed away suddenly on October 17, 2010, at the Jerold Phelps Emergency Room surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his wife and friend of 34 years, Annie Sickinger Bowen, his son Evan Paul Bowen, his daughter Serenity Bowen Denney, her husband John Denney, loving grandsons Dylan Bowen, Zarion and Tao Jah Denney, godson Tyler Gooch and his wife Sadie and their children Ariel, Savannah and Austin, extended family Shanda Rial and her husband Tony Centeno, their sons Brandon Jeremy, Daniel and Cody, and his brother and sister-in-law George and Arlene Bowen, and many nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his faithful companions Lillie Lovebug, Pearl May Sunshine, Niko, and Nala Rocco, who were by his side, always.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kelsey George Bowen and Lillian Bowen, his sister Marie Hagler, and her son Arlo Hagler.

Stephen’s last request was for all who knew him to know that he loved them. He was so proud of his community and gave of himself when needed.

Special thanks to everyone at Southern Humboldt Community Health Care District for all your loving care. To the community, love and peace to all.

At his request, a celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. Rest in peace Stephen Bowen.
