Louis was born in MORRELLTON, MISSOURI, known today as Anaconda, on July 19th, 1937, to parents John David Busse and Nellie Keen.

As a toddler, his left leg was scalded by hot liquid, leaving scars. He also broke his wrist playing cowboys, riding their old horse named Dan. It cost $1 to have the doctor set it in a cast. The day it was removed, he broke it again. His dad did not have another $1 for a doctor, so it healed crooked. The family later moved to Jean Street in St Clair. Louis attended school until 7th grade.

In 1957, Louis married Beverly Cordrey. They had a daughter Sharon. The couple divorced, and Sharon was adopted by her grandmother Marie.

In April of 1961, Louis married Patricia Ritchey. She brought a son Larry to the marriage. Together they had a daughter Lori, and a son Timothy. They divorced in 1968.

Louis home (on Jean St) burned down in 1968. Shortly after, he moved to St. Louis, Mo. He worked at Ramsey Corporation in Manchester, making piston rings.

In 1970, he married Gail Higgins. She had 3 children from her previous marriage. They divorced in 1972.

Louis moved to Moselle, Mo. and lived with his mother for a while. He married Marney Nevills Whitley in 1972. They moved to Union, Mo. He worked at Permaneer Box Factory, and Happs Tavern. They divorced in 1973.

In 1973, he dated Loretta Strubberg. They lived in Union for a short while, then went to Arizona for a year. They returned and married in the summer of 1975. Loretta brought a daughter Brenda to the marriage. They moved into his mother's old house in Moselle. They had two daughters together, Angel & Loretta Lynn. Louis worked for East Central College, and drove a school bus for Harmon & Sons. He suffered a disabling spinal injury in 1977. He & Loretta divorced around 1987. Louis moved to Union, Mo. for a short time, then moved to St Clair, Mo. and lived there in his later years. Louis & Loretta lived in separate homes, but remained close until his death.

Louis battled Prostate Cancer in 1998. He was then stricken with Colon Cancer. Louis could not tolerate the chemotherapy, and suffered brain swelling and blot clots. He was hospitalized for a month in December 1999. He suffered a brain stem bleed on December 30, 1999. He died that afternoon surrounded by family.

Funeral Services were held at Russell Coloniel Funeral Home.
Burial was at Anaconda Cemetery.
