Mrs. Dorothy M. Kellems, 81, of Battletown, died Fri. Mar. 22, 1996 at the residence of her daughter in Brandenburg. She was born in Meade Co. on Feb 9, 1915 a daughter of the late Richard M. Vandiver and Cora Chism Vandiver.
Mrs. Kellems was a member of the J.R. Dink Chapter #347 Order of Eastern Star. Eastern Star services were held at 7:30 p.m. Sun. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Alexander Kellems on Jan. 20, 1973; a son, Mr James Ray Kellems St on Jan 20, 1992; a grandson, Mr. James Ray Kellems Jr. on Aug 31, 1995, two brothers and two sisters.
Mrs Kellems is survived by a daughter, Ms. Bettie M. Bennett, Brandenburg; a half-sister, mrs Barbara Jane Nunn, Buffalo; 3 grandchildren: Andy Bennett Jr., Eddie Bennett, and Lisa Kellems; and one great-grandson Billy Bennett.
Funeral services were held on Mon. Mar 25, 1996 at 2 pm from the chapel of Jenkins Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Mings officiating.
Interment was in Parr-Frans Cemetery, directed by Jenkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Darrell Humphrey, Garry Hockman, Bobby Arnold, Ray Whited, Louis Crawford and Frank Powell.
