He was born in Meade Co, KY, Feb. 24, 1913 the son of Richard Martin Vandiver and Cora Ethel Chism Vandiver. Mr. Vandiver was a retired foreman for the Riverside Stone Co. Battletown, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Annabelle Troutman Vandiver; father and step-mother, Mr and Mrs Richard M. Vandiver, Battletown, one daughter, Mrs Paul (Shirley Ann) Ellis, Lawton, Oklahoma; one son, Mr John Richard Vandiver, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisana; one sister, Mrs Dorothy Kellems, Battletown; one half-sister, Mrs Barbara Jane Nunn, Elizabethtown, KY, one brother, Mr Russell Vandiver of Battletown, 2 sisters preceded him in death. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday Nov 30, 1969 at 2:p.m. from Wolf Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Lambert officiating. Interment was in the Parr Cemetery, directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Pallbearers were; Messrs Julius Burrell, Joe Stembridge, J.E. Kinley, Lloyd Willett, Lamar Smith, and Andy Bennett.
