Henry Roland "Bud" Hobbs was the 2nd son born to Henry Leonard Hobbs and Ella Pearl Scott. Bud was a Western Singer in late 40's to mid 1950's. Bud Hobbs and his Trail Herders recorded 30 songs with MGM records. Bud's record "Lousiana Swing" in 1954, on lead guitar was Buck Owens, Piano-Bill Woods, and the dual fiddles of Oscar Whittington and Jelly Sanders. This song may have been the first to be recorded in the legendary style known later as the "Bakersfield Sound."
