~0bit~Mrs. B. J. Hoover passed away at her home in Dundee, Iowa on Wednesday morning, February 14, 1934, following a brief illness, death being due to cerebral meningitis. Mrs. Hoover had been in declining health for some weeks, but not even the members of her family suspected that her condition was at all alarming. While at church Sunday morning she was taken ill, her condition became critical on Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Hoover church near Walker, on Friday afternoon, at two o'clock. Rev. C. S. Weigel, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Independence, will have charge of the services. Burial will be made in the cemetery near Walker. (North of Troy Mills). The children are-Mrs. Alta Drahelm of Iowa City; Mrs. Lura Dodd, Mrs. Ruby Emerson and the Misses Olive, Amy and Ina Hoover of Charles City; and the Misses Mina and Elma Hoover, at home; and Clyde Hoover of Rochester, Minnesota. One son, Carl Hoover died in 1922, at the age of 20 years. Mrs. Hoover is also survived by her aged father, John Smith Bailey, of Troy Mills, and several brothers and sisters, residing at distant points. The passing of this devoted Christian wife and mother brings earth's greatest sorrow to the home. Her life was spent in loving ministration to a large family of children, and in caring for her family, she denied herself many of the pleasures of life. Rev. Hoover and his children have the earnest sympathy of the people of Dundee in the sorrow that has come to them at this time.
