Minnie's life was short and filled with tragedy. Her father died of cancer when she had just turned 6. She lost her mother to consumption (tuberculosis) when she was 14. It's assumed she then stayed with relatives in Elgin, and was taken by consumption herself when she was 19, and was buried next to her mother in the Wallowa cemetery.
