Quentin Josiah Allen, Sr., 86, of Asheboro, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Universal Health Care in Ramseur.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Union Grove Christian Church, Asheboro, with the Rev. Gary Reeder and the Rev. John Gunter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Allen Dairy Farm and a member of the Union Grove Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rachel Allen.
Survivors include daughters, Susan Hicks, and husband, Roger, of Cameron, Ann Naylor, and husband, Homer, of Goldsboro; son, Quentin J. "Joe" Allen Jr., and wife, Luann, of Asheboro; sisters, Dorcus Edwards, Cloyce Moon and Rebecca Powell, of Asheboro, Nadine Moffitt and Patty Craven, of Ramseur; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and close friend, O'Delia Luck.

Visitation was 7 to 9 Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur and other times at the home of Quentin J. "Joe" Allen, 3629 Quentin Dr., Asheboro.

Memorials may be made to, Union Grove Christian Church, 3985 Old N.C. Hwy 13, Asheboro, NC 27205.
