Born Jan. 12, 1955, at Three Rivers, MI, Tim was the son of Walter Odell Bye and Ardath Elaine (Hagerman) Bye of Scotts Bluff, NE. He was a 1973 graduate of Three Rivers High School.
On June 24, 1980, Tim was married to Christine Jane Eley in Three Rivers, MI. To their union were born two children, Rachel and David Bye. Christine (born Oct 2, 1952, in Three Rivers, MI) preceded him in death on July 7, 1990, at Belleville, St. Clair, IL.
Timothy married Mary Jane (Carey) Bye on July 13, 1991.
In October 1999, Tim retired from the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force, he earned an associates degree in communications. Following his retirement, Tim worked for AT&T as a technician.
He was a Civil War and history enthusiast. He was a member of Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle, where he was assistant treasurer and active with the bus ministry.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Bye, of Mooresville, IN; a son, David W. Bye of Waipahu, Hawaii; a daughter, Rachel Harper of Clarksville, TN; one brother, Paul Bye of Denver, CO; and two sisters, Judy Plisek of Scotts Bluff, NE, and Joye Briggs of Three Rivers, MI.
The service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Martinsville Baptist Tabernacle. Pastor David Zempel will officiate. There will be a military service at the church following the funeral service. Visiting hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Anaconda Cemetery in Anaconda, MO.
