She was born Dec. 8, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to Ernest and Ida (Belville) Nixon. She married Dwight Shaw on April 18, 1984, at the Christian Church in Havana.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her husband, Dwight of Havana; two daughters, Melanie (Randy) Lindsey of Havana and Sanda (Ed) Collins of LaSalle, Ill.; two stepsons, Donald (Fern) Shaw of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rick Cave of Denver, Colo.; and one stepdaughter, Donna (Larry) Biershank of Columbia, S.C. Also surviving are three sisters, Helen Roberts of East Jordan, Mich., Pat Robinson of Lewistown, Ill., and Leona Williams of Canton, Ill.; and one stepdaughter-in-law, Arlene Shaw of Havana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; one son, Lawrence DuWayne Woodley; and one stepson, George Shaw.
She was a member of Sweet Adelines and an active volunteer at the Havana Food Pantry.
She had held several offices in her church and enjoyed playing ball with her grandchildren, square dancing and growing flowers.
Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana.
