Daughter of Ernest Nixon and Ida Bellville. Married John Joseph Imel 6 Nov 1945 in Boyne City.Marjorie L. Imel, 78, of East Jordan, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at
Charlevoix Area Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday,
Feb. 25, at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., in East Jordan, Mich. President
Douglas Weisler of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in
Charlevoix will officiate. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery in
Charlevoix.

She was born on May 8, 1927, in Detroit, the daughter of Ernest and Ida
(Belleville) Nixon of Charlevoix, Mich., and Lewistown, Ill. She grew up
in Charlevoix. After living in the Detroit area as an adult, she moved to
East Jordan in the 1950s. She had worked as a press operator for many years
at Mount Clemens Metal Products in East Jordan. She retired in 1990 after
the company's name was changed to Gulf & Western.

She had been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in
Charlevoix. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting and playing
bingo.

She is survived by three children, John "Jay" (Barb) Imel of East Jordan,
Charles "Louie" Imel of Augusta, Ga., and Sheila Imel-Rake of East Jordan;
13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Helen Roberts of
East Jordan, Dorothy (Dwight) Shaw of Havana, Ill., Patsy (Roger) Robinson
of Havana, Ill., and Leona Williams of Canton, Ill.; one brother-in-law,
Gerald Roberts of East Jordan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Charles Nixon;
one sister, Ernestine Roberts in 2005; and one infant granddaughter, Kelly
Imel in 1971. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24,
at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., in East Jordan. Memorials may be given
to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 Third Ave., New York, NY
10017, in honor of Marjorie L. Imel's sister, Ernestine Roberts.
