Oakley -- A. D. "Gus" Depperschmidt, 97, Oakley, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2004. Mr. Depperschmidt was born Feb. 9, 1907, in Rush County. He was a retired farmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine, in 1993; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel of Scott City and Thomas of Oakley; two daughters, Jeannine Call of Hays and Wanda Depperschmidt of Scott City; three sisters, Katie Goetz of Dodge City, and Betty Kaiser and Bertha Owens, both of Denver; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Church, Oakley. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Oakley. A rosary and wake will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, 217 Freeman, Oakley 67748.

Memorials may be made to the Oakley Fire Department, in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
