John Davis, Sr. Services Held Luling

Funeral services for John Davis Sr., who died in E. B. Davis Hospital in March 17 at 1:15 p.m., was held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Chambers-O'Bannon Funeral Chapel in Luling with Rev. Charles Petty officiating. Interment was in the Luling City cemetery,
Mr. Davis was born August 1900 in Sullivan, Texas, the son of a James Jefferson and Elizabeth Allen Davis. He married to Gladys Davis they made their home in Luling where Mr. Davis was engaged in ranching. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church.survivors are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Urban Sea of Luling; two sons, R. L. (Honey) Davis of Luling and John W. Davis of Gonzales; one brother, Joe E. Davis of Austin; six sisters, Mrs. Bonnie ___, Mrs. Louis Ballard, Mrs.Jennie Powell, Mrs. Emma D.Bullock, and Mrs. Floy __ all of Luling, and Mrs. Smith Sr. Of Gonzales; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
His nephews served as pallbearer.
