She was a daughter to Joseph and Katherine (Dues) Abels. On Jun 14, 1932, in Philothea, she married Henry Gehle, who survived her.

Also surviving were a son, Don, New Bremen; three daughters, Joan Bruns, Fort Recovery, Vera (Walter) Bills, Apple Valley, CA, and Marge (James) Nolan, South Whitley, IN; a brother, Robert, Coldwater; four sisters, Sophie Schoen, Coldwater, Dorothy (Robert) Smith, Necadih, WI, Eleanor (Maurice) Elking, Chickasaw, and Rose Mary Homan, New Bremen; and twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.

Deceased were two grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter, and the Christian Mothers Sodality of the church.

Services were in the church, the Rev. Cornelius Fenton officiating.
