Urban, 67, Sharpsburg, died in Mercer County Joint Township Community Hospital.

He was born to Joseph and Katherine (Dues) Abels.

On Apr 27, 1927, he married Mary Braun, who survived him.

After Urban's marriage to Mary they lived in a farm one and one-half miles west of Sharpsburg, which had been purchased from Anna Obringer. They spent their entire married life on this farm raising cows, chickens, hogs, and children. Urban suffered chest pains on 24 Nov 1969 , while helping Jim haul manure. He died shortly after at the age of 67. He was a member of St. Paul's Church.

Attack Mon. Fatal to Urban Abels

Sixty-seven year old Urban Abels, a resident of the Sharpsburg area, died at 5:30 Monday afternoon of a coronary heart attack. He had been working in the field with a son when he became ill.

Mr. Abels, a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Paul's church, Sharpsburg, was married on April 27, 1929 to Mary Braun, who survives.

Funeral services will be held from the church in charge of the Brockman Funeral Home at 10 o'clock Thanksgiving morning with Fr. M. Fortman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may view the body at the Funeral Home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 Wednesday and until the time of the funeral mass on Thursday.

Surviving are the following children: Elmer, St. Henry; Ralph, Coldwater; Paul, St. Henry; Eugene, Carroll and James, all of Fort Recovery; Walter and Mary Jane at home; Mrs. Anthony Nieport, St. Henry; Mrs. Marion Nargarder, Versailles.

The following brothers and sisters mourn his passing: Henry, Van Wert; Leo, Fort Recovery; Robert, Coldwater; Mrs. Henry Gehle, Mrs. Leo Schoen, Mrs. Bernard Schmits, all of Fort Recovery; Mrs. Robert Smith, Wisconsin; Mrs. Maurice Elking, Chickasaw and Mrs. Harold Homan, New Bremen, Twenty six grandchildren also survives.
