Irma, 49, Rt.2, Ft. Recovery, died at 8:15 p.m., at St. Rita's Medical Center.

She was born to Joseph and Katherine (Dues) Abels.

She married Bernard Schmitz Oct. 26, 1950, in Philothea, and he survives with her mother and four children, Arlene, Dayton; Dan, Pam, and Todd, all at home; two brothers, Bob Ables, Coldwater; and Henry, Van Wert; five sisters, Mrs. Harry Gehle and Mrs. Leo Schoen, both of Fort Recovery; Mrs. Maurice Elking, Chickasaw; Mrs. Harold Homan, New Bremen; and Mrs. Bob Smith, Necedah, Wis. Two brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Schmitz was a member of the ladies altar sodality of St. Peter Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Andthony Migoni.
