Former Olathe resident, Ollie L. Brown of Lakewood died of natural causes Thursday in the Hospice of St. John's in Lakewood. She was 89. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p. m. Sunday at Montrose Valley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Monday in the funeral home's chapel with Rev. Frank Brummett officiating. Burial will be in Olathe Cemetery. She was born July 12, 1903 to Christopher and Exie Ophelia Pierson Marrs near Dawson, Texas. She spent her childhood in south central Texas and lived in the area until she moved to Colorado in 1947. She married James Richard Brown on Sept. 7, 1919 in Dawson. He is deceased. Mrs. Brown was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, fishing, hiking canning, traveling and working with young adults in her church and community. Survivors include two sons and their wives, Ruben and Evelyn Brown of Montrose and Harold and Bonnie Brown of Kellerton, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Ann and Lester Lane of Teague, Texas and Hazel and Jerry Sanders of Aurora; two half-brothers; a half-sister; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
