FORMER TEXAS SOLON DIES IN CALIFORNIA

FRESNO, Calif., Aug. 18.
Thomas J. Roberson, 71, a former member of the Texas and New Mexico Legislatures who had lived in retirement in Fresno two and a half years, died here today.

Roberson was graduated from the Kentucky University and taught school for more than 20 years in Arkansas and Texas. He served two terms in the Texas Legislature from 1906 to 1910. He moved to New Mexico in 1912 and served in the New Mexico Legislature from 1918 to 1930.

He moved to Visalia, Calif., in 1925. Ill health forced his retirement from the grocery business there in 1931 and Roberson came to Fresno in 1934.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucretia Roberson of Fresno; five sons, Thomas C. and Frank Norris Roberson of Fresno, Guy T. Roberson of Albuquerque, N. M.; J. J. Roberson of Flint, Mich., and Victor L. Roberson of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three daughters, Mrs. H. C. Salyes of Ivanhoe and Mrs. Earl Whepley of Lemon Cove, Tulare County, and Mrs. H. W. Johnston of Cincinnati.
