Mrs. E. Roberson, Valley Resident 32 Years, Dies
Mrs. Elizabeth Roberson, 89, died today in a local sanitarium where she had been a patient for the past four years. Her death was due to heart trouble.
She was born in Arkansas and in 1889 she married the late Thomas J. Roberson and moved to Texas. Roberson, an educator, served two terms in the Texas legislature. The family later moved to New Mexico when it became a state and Roberson served several terms in the New Mexico legislature in addition to carrying on ranching operations.
The Robersons moved to Visalia, Tulare County, in 1925. The moved to Fresno in 1932 and Roberson died here four years later.
Mrs. Roberson was a member of the First Baptist Church here.
She is survived by five sons, Thomas C., a Fresno certified public accountant, F. Norris and Guy T. Roberson, all of Fresno, Victor L. Roberson of St. Louis and John J. Roberson of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur L. Blank of Fresno, with whom she made her home for many years, and Mrs. B. F. Bartlett of Strathmore, Tulare County; a brother, Robert Ratliff of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 PM in the chapel of the Lisle Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Belmont Memorial Park.
