Rites Held for Mrs. Shearer, 88

PLAINVIEW, Jan. 2 (Special) – Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Frances Shearer, 88, were conducted at 2 p.m. today in the First Methodist Church here.

She died early Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Maddox, in Lovington, N.M. She had been ill for four weeks.

Mrs. Shearer moved to Silverton in 1929. Following her husband's death, she made her home in Lockney and Plainview with her children.

Survivors are five sons, O. T. and E. F. Shearer, both of Plainview; F. S. Shearer of Lockney, Clarence of Vernon, Ernest of Alpine; two daughters, Miss Lillian Shearer of Seminole and Mrs. Maddox; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Brown of Samnorwood, Mrs. Julia Burnett of Stephenville, Mrs. Elva Jackson of Visalia, Calif., and Mrs. Zona Wyly of Stockton, Calif.

Lemons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
