Her grandparents migrated from Norway and were among the first families to settle in what was then known as the Dakota Territories. They were among the true Pioneers of the West. She was one of 14 children and loved all of her brothers, sisters, and many nephews and nieces.
She was married to Robert C. Browning in 1952 and, they remained together for 67 years until he passed in 2020. They made their home and raised their family in Evansville, Indiana. She worked for and retired from Qualex photo after 35 years. Her life was more than just working, she also devoted her life to sharing love with all of God's creation, and most importantly God's words and instructions.
Her living years were spent loving her children, grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Anna, who lovingly devoted the last two years assisting her with transitioning to Tennessee. Thank you to: her neighbors, longtime friends in Evansville and new found friends in Tennessee, and the care givers at Wilson Manor. She was always full of appreciation and thankfulness for every kindness shown to her even until her last moments.
She had an amazing memory for quoting verses, songs, poems and scripture. One quote she often made is "you only keep what you give away and you never lose by giving." She was always of the mind and heart to share her love for her friends.
Ina is survived by daughter, Ramona Browning of Indianapolis, IN; son, Myron Browning (Anna) of Lebanon, TN; grandchildren, Clint Merriss, Abbi Merriss, Mallori Lawrence, and Lauren Benbenek (Curtis); great grandchildren, Vanessa, Dani, Mia and Max; sister, Virginia Myers; brother, Verdus Olson; and several nieces and nephews.
Ina was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Browning; her parents, Con Olson and Ida (Nelson) Olson; and several brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Ina's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2023 and again from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
