Ervin E. Olson, 82, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Sunday morning, April 2, 2006, at Brandywine Healthcare in Greenfield. He was born May 27, 1923, in Platte, S.D., and was the son of the late Con and Ida (Nelson) Olson. He retired from Western Electric of Indianapolis as an inspector after 41 years of employment and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Metz) Olson, whom he married on October 17, 1949; sons, Steve (Amy) Olson of Greenfield, and Phil (Sandra) Olson of Shirley; brothers, Alvin, Con, Verdus all of Indianapolis, George of Sioux Center, Iowa; sisters, Dena Christianson of Virginia, Gretha Groseth of Indianapolis, Eleanor Rodgers of Greenfield, Ina Browning of Evansville, Virginia Myers of Butler, Ind.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kermit, three sisters, Millie Theorderson, Clara Ellingson, Esther Olson and a great-granddaughter, Ramie Evanson, in 2005.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Pasco-Stillinger Funeral Home in Greenfield. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the funeral home.
