Jesse Laird Bell, aged 6 years, 9 months and 21 days, died at the home of his parents Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bell in Wishaw at 8 o'clock Monday evening after a three-week's illness of diptheria. The deceased was the oldest of four children, each of the others having recovered from an attack of the same disease. This is the first death to occur from this deasease although many cases have developed in that vicinity during the past few months.
The funeral services were conducted privately, at the home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. H.G. Teagarden of Punxsutawney officiating, L.H. Reed of Desire being undertaker in charge. Interment was made in the Desire cemetery.
