The former Sandra Schelthelm was born in Manitowoc on June 26, 1940, a daughter of the late Adam and Lucille (Fricke) Schelthelm. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. Sandra enjoyed gardening, bird watching, family activities, writing children's stories and poems, and had a great love for animals, especially cats. She was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Kenneth (Margie) Skattebo, St. Nazianz and Kevin (Melissa) Skattebo, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Carrie (Shannon) Bartow, Kimberly Luckow, Angie Hrnciar, Hunter Skattebo, and Hayden Skattebo; several great grandchildren; one sister: Sharon Gappa, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents Adam and Lucille Schelthelm; one daughter: Penny Skattebo; four sisters and five brothers-in-law: Germaine (Milton) Diegel, Joyce (Edward) York, Shirley (Dale) Gulseth, Elaine (Elmer) Karbon, and Gregory Gappa; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Mary) Schelthelm.
Graveside services will be held on Friday June 23, 2023, at 1:30 pm at the Valders West Cemetery. The Rev. Stephen Melso will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandra's name can be made to Pink Heals.
