Robert L. Schelthelm “Bob” of Cedarburg, WI went to be with the Lord on November 3, 2018 at the age of 82. Bob was the son of Adam and Lucille Schelthelm, and born in Manitowoc, WI January 27, 1936. Bob grew up in Manitowoc with his seven sisters: Florence, Elaine, Shirley, Joyce, Germaine, Sharon, and Sandy. Bob and his siblings attended First German Evangelical Lutheran School where they received a thorough education along with foundational Biblical truth.

Bob then attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, and after high school joined the Army where he completed his Basic Airborne training with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1955. After completing his service he spent a short time with the Coast Guard Merchant Marine on the Great Lakes. After his discharge from the Coast Guard Bob met the love of his life, Mary Cyrilla Pronold and they were married October 27, 1962.

Bob and Mary moved to Cedarburg in 1968 where they raised their children and resided until their deaths. Bob began as a tool and die maker, but soon gave that career up due to safety concerns, and spent the remainder of his career working for Economy Glass of Cedarburg. Bob was well known throughout the surrounding communities as a friendly window washer.

After his retirement Bob and Mary enjoyed traveling as long as their health allowed going to many places including Branson, Nashville, Alaska, Hawaii, Florida, and Europe. Bob loved visiting and playing with his grandchildren, and generally giving help to anyone he knew who needed it. Bob loved and cared for Mary until her death in 2010.
In the years since Mary’s death Bob enjoyed visiting with folks and working out at Anytime Fitness, making friends and serving others in his apartment, and attending movies at the restored Rivoli Theatre in downtown Cedarburg.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Mary, and his sisters Germaine, Joyce and Shirley. Bob is survived by his sisters: Florence, Elaine, Sharon, and Sandy, his children: Dawn Schelthelm of Lansing, MI, and Rick (Sandy) Schelthelm of Marshall, his 5 grandchildren: Sarah (Jonathan) Allen of Madison, Esther (Joshua) Grams of Milwaukee, Isaac Schelthelm of Milwaukee, Nathan Schelthelm of Marshall, and Oliver Schelthelm of Lansing.
