Shirley Mae Gulseth, age 75, of 904 D Bellevue Place, Two Rivers, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.

Shirley was born on Jan. 16, 1932, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Adam and Lucille (Fricke) Schelthelm. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1950. On Nov. 10, 1951, she married Dale Albert Gulseth in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1985. Shirley was employed as a stenographer-dispatcher for the Two Rivers Police Department for 21 years, retiring in 1993. Shirley was the pioneer female police dispatcher for Northeastern Wisconsin. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, and the Two Rivers Senior Center. Shirley loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law: Al Gulseth, town of Liberty; Randy and Pam Gulseth, Two Rivers; and Lonnie Gulseth, Oconomowoc; two daughters: Wanda Gulseth and Wendy Gulseth, both of Two Rivers; grandchildren: Jennifer (Tony) Matte; Kevin (Danielle) Gulseth; Stephanie (Karl) Kahlenberg; Amanda Gulseth; Samantha Nelson; and Steven McCord; great-grandchildren: Karl, Trevor, Crystal, Saleena, Jadyn, Shelby, James and baby Kahlenberg; brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Mary Schelthelm, Cedarburg; sisters and brothers-in-law: Florence Roedig; Elaine and Elmer Karbon; Sharon Gappa; and Sandra Skattebo, all of Manitowoc; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marilyn Gulseth, Oconomowoc; Bruce (Judi Bierman) Gulseth, Manitowoc; Monte (Diana) Gulseth, Green Bay; Wayne (LaVerne) Gulseth, Florida; Beverly and Frank Chaplock, Milwaukee. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Germaine Diegel and Joyce York; five brothers-in-law: Edward York; Thomas Gulseth; Milton Diegel; Richard Roedig; and Greg Gappa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Scherbarth. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Highway 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, and again on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

The family wishes to express their sincere thank you to Dr. Yetter and the staff at River's Bend for their loving care and support during our mother's stay.
