Doris June Petit
age 76, of North Canton passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010. She was born June 12, 1934 in Canton, Ohio one of 18 children born to the late John and Freda Matheson. Doris retired in 1996 from the Hoover Company after 27 1/2 years of service. She loved taking trips to casinos and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Petit Sr.; four sisters, and nine brothers. Doris is survived by her daughter, Valerie (Bill) Lorentz; son, Louis Jr. (Brenda) of Salem, Ohio; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel. The family will receive friends in the funeral home TONIGHT Thursday, Aug. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to services on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. In honoring her wishes Doris will be cremated following services.
