Louis A. Petit Sr., age 89, of North Canton, passed away Tuesday morning in Mercy Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born September 29, 1919 in Martindale, Pennsylvania, son to the late Valery and Irene (Wynkoop) Petit. He retired from the Hoover Company in 1983 following 42 years of faithful service. He was a avid fisherman, loved the outdoors and had bowled on the Senior Bowling Tour. He excelled as a baseball player on the Hoover Company Baseball Team. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Petit and sister, Lottie Graening. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris (Matheson) Petit of the home; daughter, Valerie (Bill) Lorentz of North Canton; son, Louis Petit II of North Canton and Fiancee, Brenda Hawk of Salem; six grandchildren, Tony (Leah) Wagner of Akron, Louis Petit III of Akron, Robbie Lorentz of North Canton, Sarah, Samantha and Andrew "A.J" Petit all of Jackson Township. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening from 6-8p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W. North Canton. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park,
