Violet M. Morris age 73 of Canton, Ohio passed away Friday afternoon in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Canton, Ohio on January 19, 1931 she was an employee of Perk's Tavern where she had worked for the past 43 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Morris who passed away October 28, 1995, also by her parents, John and Freda Matheson and five brothers, Albert, Robert, Donald, Ronald and Larry Matheson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Joyce Morris and three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Nine sisters, Doris Petit, Helen Rettburg, Virginia Reith, Betty Matthews, Linda Phillips, Carol Ferguson, Donna Matheson, Cathy Johnson and Marilyn Sheaks. Three brothers, Charles, Russell and James Matheson. There are numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Reed Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Brady officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
