Mrs Sam Lovejoy died at her home last Monday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev F Cummings, Calloway Bragg and E E Adkins. The burial services were under auspices of the Jr A.M. There were about 300 people present.

The 7 year old child of Sam Lovejoy was severely burned last Monday. One of Floyd Adkins girls was burnt at the same time.Coretta was the daughter of the late Floyd and Victoria (Adkins) Adkins. She married Samuel Lovejoy in 1904 and had 5 children; Ella, Dora, Samuel (stillborn), Effie and Isaac. She died from child birth with her last son Isaac. The headstone that she has was replaced and they have her death date as 1913, but the death certificate proves that that date is wrong and it is the date in 1914.
