HAMLIN- Wilbert Adkins, 74, of Hager, Lincoln County, died Tuesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs Geneva Sias of Branchland. He was a retired farmer and miner. He had been ill for seven years. Mr Adkins was a member of the Palermo Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Leva; three sons, Moggry of Johnson Fla., Okie of Crown and Robert of Huntington; five other daughters, Mrs. Lelia Douglas of Lyburn, Mrs Lena Hanley of Hammond, Ind., Mrs Pearl Lovejoy of Nitro, Mrs Leva Carey of Sias and Mrs Hobert Smith of St Albans; two brothers, Everett of Clothier and Albert of Hamlin; four sisters, Mrs Esta Mullins of Industry, Pa., Mrs Martha Ann Russell of St Albans, Mrs Tildie Sowers of Clothier and Mrs Lola Whitten of Sias; 45 grandchildren and 25 great-granchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Palermo Methodist Church with the Rev Ebb Cummings and the Rev. Elijah Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Goldsburry Cemetery at Sias.
