Throughout the life of Mrs. Dillie Lee Moore, she was the epitome of a Phenomenal Woman. She was one who expressed her love for not only her family and friends but had a profound love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. During the course of her life, she prepared herself for eternity and so it was Saturday, September 29, 2012, when she exited this world to enter into the beautiful City of God.

Dillie was born on July 17, 1927, in Madison, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. George (Polly) Lee. She was the ninth of fourteen children. Her parents, seven brothers, and three sisters preceded her in death. She received her early education at the Arbondale and Madison County Training schools. Dillie accepted Christ as her personal savior and united with the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (Pratts) under the pastorate of Rev. O.D. Jamison.

At the age of sixteen, she sought greater opportunities and moved to Chicago, IL where she continued her formal education. She later became a seamstress and worked for several years before relocating to California where she continued her profession as a seamstress. It was in California that she met and married Emory Moore. He preceded her in death.

After relocating to California, she united with the First Baptist Church of Perris in Perris, California. She was a dedicated and faithful member serving as a Mother of the Church and in any capacity, she was asked until she relocated back to her native Mississippi on June 6, 2011, to be close to her family. She united with St. Matthew Baptist Church and became an active member of the church and Mother Board.

Throughout her life, Dillie enjoyed not only domestic travel but international travel as well. She enjoyed taking cruises with friends and really loved to throw her hook into the water and reel in some fish. Despite the fact, that her health had begun to fail and her steps were getting slow, she was always dressed very immaculately wherever she went.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son John Lee of Jackson, MS; a grandson Dexter (Vanessa) Taylor of Heidelberg, MS; a granddaughter Kellie Lee of Minnesota; two great-grandchildren Darrius and Kylie; two brothers Jesse (Diane) Lee of Chicago Heights, IL, and Cleophus (Mattie) Lee of Jackson, MS; a sister Mary (James) Smith of Jackson, MS; a special goddaughter Doris Scovill of Sun City, CA; a spiritual goddaughter Annette Irvin of Ridgeland, MS; godchildren Felicia Holmes, Ruthie Lyles, and Caleb Collins, all of Jackson, MS; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews, other relatives, and friends.
