Mrs. M. J. Millsapps Taken to Roby For Interment Following Death Tuesday Evening At Home
Mrs. M. J. Millsapps, age 75 years, died at her home on Lamar Street Tuesday evening at 7:30 o'clock after a lingering illness. She is the widow of C. J. Millsapps, who died and was buried at Roby, Texas, about 20 years ago.
The family moved to this country 30 years ago and settled in Fisher County, near Roby. Mr. Millsapps was one of the first men to demonstrate that this part of the country was fitted for agriculture and he aided in the upbuilding and developing of Fisher and Nolan Counties.
Mrs. Millsapps moved here 20 years ago and had been a resident of Sweetwater since that time. She was well known in Sweetwater and Nolan County and while living here made many friends who will mourn her death.
Mrs. Millsapps is survived by nine children, seven girls and two boys, and all were present at the funeral.
The daughters are Mrs. S. Terrell and Mrs. Irma M. Weakley, both of Post City; Mrs. W. A. Blount of Roby, and Mrs. R. L. McCaulley, Mrs. Gerald Fitzgerald, Mrs. H. J. Heath and Mrs. C. A. Ingram, all of Sweetwater. The sons are John W. Millsapps and William J. (Bud) Millsapps of Sweetwater.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. C. Moore at the family residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon and interment was made in the Roby Cemetery.
