Coleman Jackson is the son of Jeremiah W. Millsaps & Emerline R. (Smith) Millsaps.
On 26 Jan 1868 in Wood County, Texas he married Mary Jane Lloyd. Together they had 10 children.

C.J. was a Civil War Veteran | Confederate | Enlisted on 1 Oct 1861 in Texas
Assigned as PVT in Company B, 10th Regiment, Lock's Texas Cavalry.
In Sept 1863, they were in the Battle of Chickamauga, GA, the seond bloodiest battle of the Civil Was. He was taken prisoner on 19 Sept 1863. On 4 Oct 1863, he was transferred to and later discharged at Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois on June 20, 1865 on taking the oath of allegiance.
