Longtime Sweetwater Woman Dies

Sweetwater - Mrs. Carrie C. McCaulley, 85, longtime resident of Sweetwater, died in Colorado City at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

She had been a resident of Sweetwater since 1904.

Mrs. McCaulley had owned and operated a general insurance office and office supply store here until she retired several years ago.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Cate-Spencer Chapel with the Rev. Richard Tarr, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery under direction of Cate-Spencer Funeral Home.

Mrs. McCaulley was born Sept. 4, 1880 in Wood County. She came to Fisher County at an early age and taught school at Roby before coming to Sweetwater.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Ruth Ingram Pate of Sweetwater and a number of nieces and nephews.
