HALE CENTER - Funeral services for Myrtle Karrh, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Meacham, pastor, and Silas Short, minister of O´Donnell Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Karrh died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998, in Hi-Plains Hospital.

She was born July 16, 1908 in Moulton, Ala. and married Rayburn Karrh on Sept. 14, 1928 in Alabama. He died Dec. 31, 1981.

She moved to Hale Center from the Snyder Community in 1941. She was a teacher and was very active in the community. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Hale Center Senior Citizens Association, Home Demonstration Club, member of the Pioneer Study Club for more than 50 years and was an active member of the Hale Center Women´s Club and the Plainview Women´s Forum. She enjoyed china painting and playing bridge.

Surviving are four daughters, Betty Miller of Houston, Gail Brown of Longview, Kay Bock of Irving and Margene Seals of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Robert G. Karrh, of Amarillo; two sisters, Marjorie Francis of Decatur, Ala. and Evelyn Matthews of Birmingham, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchldren.

Pallbearers will be J.G. Cannon, Robert Byrd, Bob Stroud, Lloyd Louthan, Leon Douglas, Bobby Byrd and J.A. Nivens. Honorary pallbearers will be George Smith, Ray Freeman, Harold Vaughn, Jake Bourland and Roy McCollum.

The family suggests memorials to the Hale Center Senior Citizens Center, Box 205, Hale Center 79041 or the Hale Center Library, Box 214, Hale Center 79041 or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
