Obituary for Ashton E. Saunders

Newport News- Ashton Edward Saunders, 72, of 23rd Street, passed away Wednesday in a local hospital.
A native of Princess Anne County, he lived here for 20 years and was the husband of Estelle Waterfield Saunders.
He was a retired employee of the city of Newport News and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are three brothers, Elwood Saunders of Virginia Beach, Preston Saunders and O.W. Saunders of Norfolk; and three sisters, Mrs. Welton Morris and Mrs. Lena Shipp of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. C.L. Trueblood of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Virginia Beach by the Rev. John Carroll. Burial will be in the Willowwood Cemetery.
