Laura Estelle W. Saunders was the daughter of Thomas R. Saunders and his wife, Daisy Bruce. She was born in what was then Princess Anne County, Virginia (now city of Virginia Beach). She was married to Welton Lee Morris in about 1931.

VIRGINIA BEACH - Laura Estelle Morris, 92, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2006. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years, Welton Lee Morris. She is survived by two sons, Nelson and wife Kay and James and wife June, all of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Margarett Creech and husband Melvin of Macon, Ga., and Patricia Trowbridge and husband Dale of Mechanicsville, Va.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of the Agape Sunday School Class and loved her church, Sunday school and its members.
Laura's life will be celebrated at the graveside in the Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4012 Charity Neck Road, Virginia Beach, at 11 a.m. Thursday. The family will receive friends at their residence, 1877 Pleasant Ridge Road from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The remains will lie in repose for viewing from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Great Bridge Chapel of the Oman Funeral Home, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Creeds Volunteer Rescue Squad, 595 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book and send condolences at www.omanfh.com. "
