Jack Dee Grogan, 75, of Mitchell, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at Treemont on the Park Assisted Living in Oakland Park, Florida. Born April 28, 1947, in Franklin County, he was the son of Oscar A. Grogan and Maggie Mae (Grogan) Chastain.

Jack was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He worked as a vacuum salesman and loved to travel.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Grogan; siblings, Luella Jones of Mitchell, Zelma Cole of Mitchell, Marvin Grogan of Bedford, David Michael Grogan of Bedford, and Millard Grogan of Shoals; and three grandchildren.

His parents and siblings, Bob Grogan, Shirley Yaney, Naomi Sue McDaniel, Eva Mae Oliver, Penny Gail Grogan, and Imelda Lessig preceded him in death.

The graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, at Dive Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 250 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9107. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
