Mr. Shipman was born June 17, 1926, at the family homestead in Navarre Coulee and attended schools in Chelan. Later, he moved to Nullan, Idaho, where he was employed in the mines. On September 3, 1950, he was married to Patricia McCullough at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Following their marriage, they made their home in Coeur d'Alene until 1969, when they moved to San Diego. They owned and operated a motel until he retired a few years ago.
Mr. Shipman was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of the home; a daughter, Mary Rowland, of Ukiah, California; three brothers, Irwin Shipman of Port Orchard; Frank Bagwell of Entiat; Tom Bagwell, of Chelan; two sisters; Alta Miller, of Entiat; Vera Ware, of Wenatchee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
