SPRING GROVE - Romaine M. (Spangler) Kerchner, 74, of Spring Grove RD 5, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at her home. She was the wife of Carroll "June" R. Kerchner Jr., to whom she had been married 47 years.
The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kerchner was born Oct. 17, 1919, in North Codorus Township. She was the daughter of the late John B. and Lucy B. (Miller) Spangler.
She retired in 1982 from Associated Sports Wear in Spring Grove, after 20 years of employment, and prior to that had been a seamstress for sewing factories in Jefferson and Seven Valleys. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Jefferson, the Gettysburg Region Antique Automobile Club of America, the National and Pennsylvania Dutch Chapters of the Hudson-Essex Terroplane Club and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. Kerchner also is survived by a son, Dennis L. Kerchner of Spring Grove RD 5; two daughters, Frances L. Gobrecht and Barbara J. Strausbaugh, both of Hanover; three grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Grace A. Myers of Spring Grove RD 2.
Officiating at the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Charles W. Sprenkle.
